summer break is over & ''roots.stop'' is back with something pretty special. nick andrew (a.k.a. ''animal spirit'') from ''oakland'', california, u.s., a ''i.d.m. / post-rock / electronic / ambient / experimental'' music maker & a creator of one the most interesting tracks of 2016. he said: ''that track was one i worked on for a while & it was a bit of a challenged to get it to flow from the first, more mellow, section to the more aggresive second part. it is actually all recorded samples & analog synths. from there i used 'ableton live 9' to chop it up & play with all of the audio''...
we also asked him to tell us something more about himself so here is his story:
''i grew up as a player, mostly on guitar & drums, so i am always looking for new ways to use my instruments in a new context. i release music under the name 'animal spirit' & other than a couple of collaborations & remixes i have mainly worked alone. i was really happy with my track with 'bmills' that we made back in 2012 which we left untitled. that & all of my music can be found on my 'soundcloud' & 'bandcamp' pages. in the future it is really important to me to progress as a producer & musician. i want to continue to push myself to release interesting & impactful music. i am also starting work on a live set which showcases the guitar, drums, & synths i use in the studio. i feel it is important for electronic artists to push themselves in their live set & continue to bring new things to the table when it comes to performing. it would be awesome to get to play my music for people & just reach more ears in general''.
